Bag liners for a Street Glide
« on: November 18, 2015, 12:07:26 AM »

Hi all
Guys is there a company that makes a fitted liner to go inside a 2015 Street Glide bag, all Harley give you is a lift out bag that doesn't fit correctly.
Thanks in advance

I'm tempted to make a cardboard template and have one made at the local sailmaker. Here in England I can't find anything that fits.

Not sure of the brand, but a buddy had a spray-in type liner in his bags that had a fuzzy velour feel.  Some guys I ride with said the drop in liners take up too much room.

Might be difficult to find since the 15 CVO SG has the amp hook ups inside the bags.

yeah, that amp hookup is such a poor design intruding on the side wall of the bag when it could have so easily have been positioned elsewhere where it doesn't impede. It's my one big issue with my 15 CVO SG.

I use the 'soft' bags from my '08. They are not as deep, but I keep some things in the bottom of the saddle bags anyway. The bags that came with the '12 are way too stiff...even after numerous machine washes......so stiff that they have a propensity to tear off the sticky wire holders no matter how careful you are.
IMO the liners would just take up room....but, they might make the soft bags slip in and out better....

I am hoping not to use the soft bags any longer...at least for day to day use.

Do you know how they address the amp protruding into the bag? Cutout in the liner?

It may be remove the amp and install the liner--or cut out the liner and glue in behind the amp. It sounded like a good project for the winter....take the bags off and sit in the basement and watch TV and work on a table.

I received my liners... They look good. They are 2 piece liners and not a 1 piece boot style. This isn't a deal breaker for me. I'll grab some contact cement from the box store and give it a try installing them.

Wasn't thrilled with the liners they want to use in the lids. May not even use them.....just the bag walls and the bottoms.
