Seems like a great tip 2lane.  Just ordered a sample to try on various plastic parts and windscreen.  You are probably aware of another product that I have used on  my bikes, airplane, boats and other equipment used in a harsh or corrosive enviornment for the past 10 or so years called Corrosion X.  It does not work well on clear plastics (windscreens) as there is a residue, but for any electrical connection, fuse block, headlight connections, starter plugins (you get the picture) it is unbeatable for stopping corrosion.  I use it on anything that I would use dialectic grease for with none of the mess.  I would especially recommend it for anyone who exposes their bike to salt water conditions.  www.corrosionx.com

The corrosionX is great stuff.  Don't know why I didn't think of it before but here's an almost silly little tip for a place I've used that Nyalic product on the bike.

I spray it on the top of bolt heads (allen and torx types) that will retain water when it rains.  It's pretty common to eventually begin to see a tinge of rust start to show up inside the recess of those bolt heads.  So I spray 'em with the stuff, immediately wipe off the excess from the area surrounding, and it makes a big difference in keeping those spots looking clean.

I bought a 10" smoke Fastaire and love the size and it fits nice. But they scratch way to easy. I wash my bike at least once a week, if not more. The windshield has never been touched with anything except a lambs wool mit that was soaked with Mothers car wash soap/water mix. I dry them first by blowing with air then "blotting" with a worn out cotton diaper, (never wipe across the shield), just dab unitl dry. The shield is now two months old and ready for the garbage. That in my opinion makes it cheaper to buy the HD unit at $91.96 vs $32 for the Fastaire. I had a HD smoked unit on last bike and it looked better after 18 months than this Fastaire after two. I bought a new HD fri at the X-Mas sale (20% off), so I will compare lifespan and condition.
