Custom Battery Cable 4 or 6 AWG ?
« on: December 03, 2015, 09:08:54 PM »

I ordered a new 1.4kw  starter. The battery is rated at 320 CCA.
My stock battery cables are what guage? The cables are not marked as to wire size. I did not find it in the service manual.
It might be 4 awg on the stock 1.2kw starter an stock 220 CCA battery. What do you guys think  or recommend?  2 AWG multi strand with finner wire for easier flexibility?  Best place to buy custom cables a a decent Price?
Thanks Guys

Don't know the oem cable gauge, but if it is 4g it will carry 300A to 4' without a dramatic loss. Assuming the cable is closer to 2.5' in length, you should be fine at 320A if it's indeed a 4gauge as length and gauge are determining factors.

OK thanks. It's hard to find lugs for 4 awg cable and a 1/4" stud size for Battery and a 5/15" for the starter.
