Garmin 660 thru Speakers
« on: December 06, 2015, 06:45:22 PM »

I just purchased a 2013 CVO Ultra.  Is the Garmin 660 suppose to play thru the speakers when mounted on the mount or do I have to run from the Garmin to the AUX port with an audio cable?
Thanks

On my 2013 CVO Ultra Classic it plays through the speakers.  You might need to remove your gps and clean the contacts with a Q tip and alcohol.  Then be sure it's seated firmly on the cradle.

Check your speaker switch to make sure it's set properly

I should clarify.  If I have the HK radio of AUX it plays the directions thru the speakers.  If I am listening to AM FM should it play the directions across the speakers?
I have the volume turned all the way up an master and navigation.
I have tried the speaker switch in all 3 positions.  I do not have a manual yet.  I ordered one but not here.  The switch all the way forward is for headset.  Middle runs all 4 speakers.  Back lights up and runs all 4 speakers.  Not sure the difference?
I tried to clean the contacts and it did not matter.

It has something to do with the navigation/phone volume was shut down to Mute.  Now I can not figure out how to get back into the navigation/phone volume.

If it is the 'Garmin' 660 and not the 'Harley Road Tech 660' it will not mute the radio or CB, due the HD Road Tech only works with 'NIM' feature on the HK radio's.

I found the problem.  It is in the Navigation Interface Module.  I took the batwing shell off and found the Module.  If I take a headphones and hook up to the cable that comes from the mount it works perfectly.  If I hook back to the NIM I have to wiggle the black wire that goes into the module just right and it will work.  Unfortunately the wire is molded into the NIM so it looks like I am going to need a new one.
