Had my bike re tune on the dyno. Current mileage is 34 mpg highway and city based on this setup and dyno tune. Is this good mileage for a 110 running v&h power duals and monster rounds with the harley super tuner.

I like the performance but don't know if the mileage should be this .

If you ride aggressively that's not terrible mileage but a little on the low side for a law abiding citizen. Straight hi way at 70 MPH you should see 40s. Cruise at 80 no better than 35. A little head wind at 80 and you can dip into the hi 20s fast. The tune has a lot to do with it as well but the laws of physics don't change.

Get ready, you have ten more mileage reports coming and a few of them will start
with "once upon a time" Lol..

Fuel economy (miles per gallon or "mileage") is another of those things that require context.  Without knowing the exact conditions and riding style involved, no one can answer the question other than to say "it depends".  How about doing a nice hundred mile highway ride, starting with the tank full and riding at a steady legal speed, then fill the tank and see what you get under those conditions?  That will tell you a lot more than just filling the tank, riding around town and then blasting down the highway a few times, then fill up after a couple hundred miles of that kind of mixed riding and come up with 34 mpg.

Steady highway cruising at 60-65 mph should net as much as 50 mpg, and we have folks on the site riding CVO baggers who have reported getting that kind of result with tuned engines.  If you get 30's under those conditions, then I'd say your tune sucks and I'd suspect your tuner just fattened up everything including cruise.  What do you know about the place and person doing your tune?

Gotta admit, Jerry, I'll most likely never see that "50 mpg" figure!
60-65 on the super-slab?  I don't have that kind of self-control!
She runs too damn sweet at 80!  I mean, she just purrrrrs....

Thanks for the quick feedback!
Had the bike tuned at the dealership for a second time. Since the first tune had decel when accelerating from 1st to 2nd and 3rd gear.  Heading to big bend tomorrow will fill up and post some results after a couple of full tanks!

Thanks for the input and merry Christmas.

See if you can find a real full time fully qualified tuner, as opposed to the typical know-nothing dealership guy.  I'll bet that is the reason for your higher than average fuel consumption.  We see so many complaints around here from people who let their dealership "tune" their bike, usually because most dealerships tend to just install a canned map and do a couple pulls on the dyno to make you think they actually did a tune.  Ask around on this site for recommendations for a real tuner (let us know where you're located).

GMR Perfomance should be pretty close in Ft Worth and has made many members here very happy. If I was anywhere near him I would be there for my upgrades.

x3

grc is right--your mpg can vary based on your riding style, speed, whether you warm it up, etc., but 34mpg seems low. I have the Super Tuner, and in a 'controlled situation' (I warmed up, got on the highway, and held constant speed to under 75mph for 240+ miles), I still averaged 49mpg.

Depends on how well the tech knows how to dial in the software for your particular bike. The SEPST is good, but it reads its maps based on HD parts combinations. When you have aftermarket parts, there may be some variance in the VE tables that the tuning tech should compensate for.

GMR is a great choice--stick with someone who knows the software.
