JUST SHOWING OFF
« on: January 27, 2007, 07:39:26 PM »

Had some beautiful weather today, so I was out riding and stopped to take a few pics.  They show some of the "things" I've added to feed my OCD.
Enjoy [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif],

Red,
Nice pics, thanks for sharing. You just had to remind me how nice a day it was here in the Commonwealth today for riding didn't you. :P ;D

I did get out to enjoy it some. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Didn't do any riding, but was able to take a little walk, which was nice. Will not be as long as it has been until I can throw a leg over my "Pumpkin". [smiley=orange.gif] [smiley=carrot.gif]

Depending on how the sun hits the orange, it can be anything from almost red to almost gold...the orange has gold metallic flakes in it.

Nice pictures, Red.  As I mentioned earlier, we had a nice day here in north Alabama as well.  Great day to ride.  Noticed you have the V&H TDs with Ovals........which is my front running exhaust option.  Wife doesn't want "loud" anymore, nor do I.  I had V&H Big Shots Long on my 02 Ultra, and even with the quiet baffles, it left us dazed after a long ride.  Needless to say, she's been riding with me alot more since I bought the melon.  So I'm looking at the TDs and Ovals to get rid of the hot crossover, to keep my torque, and hopefully my backwarmer in the saddle with me.  How's the sound?  I'm sure their webpage doesn't do it justice.  Thanks

Henry,
Actually, with a decent set of PC speakers, the web page sound is pretty accurate.  I love the sound of the ovals.  They have the rumble that I want, but yet are mellow enough to not wear you out on a long ride.  My wife doesn't like loud pipes either, and she likes the sound of the ovals.  Says it sounds like a Harley....LOL...I hope so.  I got to hear the Ovals and the Rineharts side by side at my dealer before I decided which ones to buy and the Rineharts were noticeably louder, and didn't quite have the sound I was looking for.  Although they sound really good too.  When I had the bike dyno'd I got what I expected.  The V&H duals, because they aren't stepped, don't give you a major increase of high end horsepower.  My bike came in at 86+hp at 6000 rpms.  But where they do shine is the torque.  I'm getting 107+ at the rear wheel, between 2700-3600 rpms, right where it's useful.  I don't ever go up into the 6000rpm range, so the midrange torque numbers were more important to me.
