Fullsac for international Model
« on: December 29, 2015, 02:23:27 AM »

As a newbie in CVO I have a (perhaps silly) questions...
I would like to replace the original baffle by fullsac 2.0. I'm living in Switzerland and have therefore the international Model.
I've read in another forum that the US muffler is another than the international muffler and that fullsac does not fit for the international mufflers. But that discussion was about the normal Touring and not the CVO.
Is that correct? Has anyone installed fullsac baffles in a non-US CVO muffler?

Thank you very much!

Cheers, Luca

Luca,

I have not seen the current, international mufflers on your CVO.  The U.S. version muffler has a tip attached by three screws and is thus removable.  If your muffler tips are removable you can install new baffles and there are several threads here to help you.  If your mufflers do not have removable tips (like non CVO bikes), you would have to cut them.  That's probably not something you want to do.  Hope this helps.

Thank you Greg and first of all - Happy New Year !

Steve from fullsac is also uncertain.
Yes, the end-cap of my mufflers are removable.
I've checked the part-numbers of the mufflers:

64768-09A (left) and 64769-09A (right)

If anybody could please check if he has mounted fullsac baffles on those mufflers, I would be very grateful  :2vrolijk_21:.

All the best for 2016 and kind regards,
Luca

Hi Luca,

Happy new year to you.

I have a UK 2015 FLHTKSE and have fitted a set of Steve's Fullsac. 2.0 muffler cores, also his header and TTS map.

Thoroughly recommend you do it, my bike runs great.

As Harley only make the one bike for Europe these days, you should have the same as me.

Ride safe

On a side note,
I have heard that its pretty strict with sond levels in Switzerland, can you get away with "better sounding" mufflers?
This is something that has been bothering me in planning a summer trip.

If I may suggest.
How about removing the end cap and taking some pictures of your muffler and send them to Steve so he has a better idea of what they look like.
Just a thought.

Happy New Year!! 🎉🎉🎉

I've got those same mufflers, (minus the "A") here and took some pics.
I've also used both the cat and non-cat mufflers with Steve's core kit.
There are some videos floating around if you want to do the mods yourself, not too difficult with the right tools.

If you compare the pics I posted with your mufflers, check to see if they look the same.
The "-A" on the part indicates export model *Europe* and may be slightly different I'm not really sure about the difference but MAY be due to catalytic converters in the inlet part of the mufflers. I've got some of those mufflers also, but, can't locate them at the moment to compare.
 :nixweiss:
IIRC in '09 the mufflers with without cats, EXCEPT for cvo, CA and export models.
In '10 (your bike?) all the cats were in the header pipe.
Pre '09 mufflers had the cats in the muffler bodies, both cvo and regular (CA and export)
Gets confusing for my old brain and maybe someone can chime in on what I missed?? LOL

Update for our non-US friends.

Yes, Fullsac fits also in the international mufflers  :orange:.

My stock mufflers had already perforated muffler sleeves and much less packing/matting as for instance visible on fullsac's video.
Don't know, whether this is due to my international mufflers or the year of manufacture 2016.
Never mind. I tossed them and used Fullsac's perforated mufflers and the CVO power cores.

Awesome, I'm happy.

Kind regards
Luca

Happy for you that they worked and I know you're happy with the difference in the sound.

Luca did you change the headpipe and add the TTS tuner also?  If not, that will make a significant increase in performance and still leave your motor "stock" for warranty repairs.  If it's not to late....you might think about keeping the stock baffles....just in case you do get cited for the louder baffles.  You could then slip the stock baffles back in and get the ticket signed off.  :2vrolijk_21:

For those in Europe that are concerned about the volumn of noise in changing the baffles....the Fullsac 1.75 baffles still perform very well however, they are just a bit quieter when twisting the throttle.....but still sound like a Harley vs. stock sound.

On another note.....if you carry a camera, those of us in this country would love to see more pics of your rides and roads over there.

Thank you JCZ
No, I didn't change the head pipe and haven't a TTS. Not yet  ;)
For the moment it was just a sound  improvement and I'm very happy with it. I ride now for more than 10 years Harleys with louder pipes ans so far haven't had any problems with the "race management".
Thanky you for your wish for pictures. I'll do that with pleasure. This one was taken last saturday.

Regards, Luca
