Tuning question on exhaust
« on: January 12, 2016, 11:22:05 PM »

I have a 2003 roadglide motor redone as a 103" se heads se 257 cams 50mm thundermax throttlebody v&h truedual headers se racetuner I bought freedom outlaw slipons I took the bike in for dyno tuning the bike wouldn't tune right it stumbled really bad with with the outlaw and wouldn't tune. Worst spot was between 1800 and 2500 rpms. Finally bought v&h twinslash rounds and it tuned better no more stumble but still a flat spot there. I really want to try the outlaws again but was hoping for some advice. Should I try torque cone or something else.
Thanks

Throw the true duals in the heap and replace with a v&h power dual, fullsac or kromeworks headpipe...

Is there a X pipe out there for a 2003? I've not seen one.

OP, not sure where you live, may need to find a different tuner. Lot's of guys running tru-duals with no stumble.

From what I read nothing wrong here except person doing the tuning work. I ran V&H true duals on my 2000 RK and 05 SEEG and neither one had a problem of any kind. The posting, to me, was a little hard to read possibly some punctuation would have helped.

Have a S&S 2-1-2 pipe on my 2003, same as the Krome Werks, easy install.

That's not an X pipe. Those are true duals.
Not so , the clue is "hidden crossover"

Durable16 gauge construction
Spherical inlet design for improved sealing and exhaust gasket durability
Hardware included to mount crossover pipe

*S&S Power Tune headers (550-0004A) will fit the 2009-Up Harley-Davidson® Tri Glide™ models.  The same power gains and good looks that the two wheeled riders enjoy can now be installed onto the Tri Glide™ models.  An additional adaptor kit will need to be purchased (550-0088).

The power duals are a cross under pipe won't work on my year thought about the s&s but I won't be a able to run my swing arm stabilizer. Don't want to loose that. Crashed in 02 almost died. The uthuthfully not happy with the shop but not many thanks in new Mexico and not convinced race tuner was the best way to go

Can you give more info of the build.  Compression would be good.

SE heads  85cc?
SE 103 pistons flat top?
Head gasket .045 SE ?
257 closes at 48

The above puts it at about 9.8 and 178 cranking.  10.5 piston puts the cranking around 193.  That cam isn't known as a low end grunt cam.
