If you are going to use it for what it was intended for. (Staying off boring Tarmac roads) get the spoked wheels. Not the cast stuff that can't take a beating from some rocks.

Most important get some good training. Rawhyde Adventures is close to you. Great outfit.

This is what I am building from a '99 Sporty to hit the trails in South Korea. Got a good deal on the bike and decided to convert to this. The build will resemble the bike in this picture.

I think you will like it.  I sold a Bushtec trailer to a guy in New Mexico and he pulls it with his.  Travels all over the US with it too.

Adding an Adventure Bike: Which One?
« Reply #21 on: March 01, 2016, 07:43:59 PM »

I've decided to add an adventure bike to the stable.  I'll travel 80% on hard surface and 20% on gravel and dirt.  Looking at the BMW R1200 GS Adventure, Ducati Multistrada Enduro or Honda 1000 Africa Twin, any other suggestions?  Anyone with experience in this category, your opinion is welcome.

Yitzak,

Will your travels to Oregon bring you to the USA May 29 - June 3rd? Could you meet us in Northern California for the Redwoods GTG?
