Compensator, Is clack at startup reason to change?
« on: January 30, 2016, 06:20:41 PM »

As the title says, is getting a clack at start up reason to change compensator? No other issues (yet) when running. To me it sounds noticeable , but that's in comparison to my 04 Electra Glide Classic with a stock 88. Other than the clack at start up the bike runs great. Its an 08 SE3 with 14K. What's the consensus? :nixweiss:

It's the start of the reason to change and typical progress from there

I would look into changing the comp. And while your at it have the primary bearing changed to the one that Baker has. It's about 50 bucks and much better than the stock unit as it tends to walk causing a binding. I only know because I had mine changed at the advice of Jim (hddude). I give him all the credit and 48k later it is still doing a fine job. Good luck to you.
