Can't figure out how to add multiple pics
Couple things that helped us along the way ,, one was pics while taking things off became valuable in putting things back even with a manual
We ziped tied the chain tensioner together when we took it out to keep every thing as it was
Knocked a wedge between the frame and the swing arm to give ample space to get the belt in
Your better off changing the o ring style gasket in the derby cover to the newer style flat gasket much easier to keep in place

Just to add don't know if you have to but I did I wire brushed every single bolt that was removed to get off any lock tight dirt or what ever looking like new before installing back

Putting the tire on a floor jack to raise makes it much easier to get the wheel in place
We did this before putting  the inner primary stuff back in just to make sure the belt was right size
Be a hell of a thing to put that all back and find put its the wrong belt ,,
Doing this job is not that hard with the right tools a motor cycle jack would be at the top of the list
I'm sure one person could manage bring a 12 pack for a friend and it sure makes things easier a good chair and light goes along way ,

A parts cleaner is good and compressed air sparkling clean is a must

The Harley tool has many uses put it behind the shift linkage to tap the shifter back in place

Good job!  Love that specialized Harley tool.  The dealer sells it for $25. HA!

Can't figure out how to add multiple pics

If you want to post multiple pictures in the same post, you will need to have a web based hosting site to upload your pictures to.  I have been using Picture Trail for probably 8 years or more now.  They do a good job and there's not all the advertisements on each page, but it does cost me $20/yr.  There are many others that are free, but again, you have to have them on a web hosting site that supports the copying of the properties to be reposted on another website.

You can click on my Picture Trail link in my signature and go check out my albums and also see what the going rate is now.  When I started it was free up to a certain limit and then over that you paid.

Thanks for posting your project.

Have a great VD...

Thanks for the info I'll look into that ,, I really don't do this for any other reason but to give a first time guy some info to help them along info sometimes on the net gets so spread put its hard to follow ,, in my case my compensater was upgraded even when I went to Harley for the bolt they told me I don't have that it was not till he brought in the head mechanic did I know mine had been upgraded to the newer generation ,
As with my Shovel head I found these sites offer so much info , in many cases better than the dealer can give you ,
So any info that I can give that makes the next guys job easier is worth every second of posting it
