Out for a little bushy tail hunting with my .22  and can almost taste those squirrel dumplings. Had decided to call it a day when out walked a small buck. Not looking for deer so I stood up and he just looked at me. He then started to move VERY slowly away 2 steps at a time, very, very, slowly. One to the ear and plenty of summer sausage. As slow as he was moving I had the perfect Nickname........

I used Google earth and your right he was slow.  Here is the one of his footprints lol

Yes, people shooting deer from too far with too little.
Another component is the seasons overlap but when it's NOT deer season, you are not allowed to carry a center fire rifle for squirrel hunting, so it's a method of poaching control as well.
For ages it's been pretty simple, if you are in the woods with a deer rifle, it had better be deer season. If it's NOT deer season, you are only allowed to carry a scattergun or a rim fire for tree rats.

This made enforcement easy, but nowadays, things are changing because of feral hogs.
Caught with a rifle in the woods? "Yes Sir, we're shootin' hogs"...   Well, OK, boys, kill em all, if you can.

If I had thought it was anything else, I wouldn't have answered. If you give out as much chit as me......you dang sho butter be able to take it, and with butter it don't hut so bad.

BTW: The elephant step was a GOOD one and it gives me a nutter team to hate.......dem daym Orange Tee's

I think Tenn had a respectable year. Lost to Ok in overtime and lost 3 other games by a total of 10 points, including Al. I do like the fact that they are Orange.....just 3 shades to light  :oops:
