King 5 is the Seattle NBC affiliate, not sure if this is Seattle or not but it looks like it is from our December Nightmare.

No one buys snow tires or studs anymore it seems.  Maybe next year they will.

Saw it on the YouTube.  Its good. The guy filming it was in a strategic spot to see all those things.

Last year there was another one with a few cars sliding downhill on a slippery road. Was fun to watch.

We have a saying about these cituations: "As always the winter came unexpectedly".

We have that same thing going on here in Charlotte today.  Its funny to watch southerners drive in any kind of snow.  The radios always saw its so bad that everybody should stay off the roads, and when you go out they are almost dry.  But ice like that is bad for anybody.

Its ok, I haven't seen snow or ice here for over 2 years up until now! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Seattle has a major complicating factor as seen in the video.

Hills, in addition to the days that warm up enough to slightly melt the snow and then quickly drop below freezing as the sunsets.

This year it began to snow for the first time at 4pm, just as rush hour began which did not allow the snow plows to get on the roads and the resulting traffic of rush hour packed the snow as it froze to the road surface.

Some commutes took up to 3 hours that normally took 30 minutes, imagine the normal one hour drives, you got it 6 to 8 hours.  Honey I'm home (midnight), crap I didn't even stop at the gentleman's club ::) ;D
