Interesting.

It looks like they added:

Spotify in-addition to Pandora
Adventure Routing  -- How that differs from Curvy Roads??
Some new notifications -- like helmet laws, live traffic, smart notifications
3D terrain
Rider alerts
Live Track
-- Find Friends for zumo?

Scratching my head on this as it does not seem to add much.

That actually pisses me off.. As I have posted I just installed the 590 a couple of weeks ago (Road tech version) and had issues that I had to call Garmin multiple times. One of those issues is that I can't plug my phone in via USB which I use for my music through my Kenwood head unit and get traffic and weather through the Garmin since the IPhone will only support 1 accessory at a time and for some reason the bluetooth connection to the Garmin makes the phone think it is an accessory. They think its because of Pandora on the phone as well as on the Garmin. Maybe this model wouldn't have an issue? I now have to put my IPad with the cell service turned on in my tourpak and bluetooth that to my Garmin which is stupid!

Go to the Garmin sight and check the compare button on both and you will see all the differences

I don't have a 590 but I use an iPhone and a SENA headset and other Bluetooth items. I'm struggling to understand what/how you are trying to hook these up.
Are you using a headset or the speakers for output?
Are you using Bluetooth to connect the Garmin and the phone to anything OTHER than each other? (Not counting the iPad, I mean the combination that you WANT to work.)
Bluetooth headset?
I suspect you may be able to get around some of this if it's another BT device involved.

I can use the BT for the Garmin and the Kenwood head unit but once I plug the phone via USB into the head unit either the Garmin or the head unit will not both work. The phone will read that "only 1 accessory can be used at 1 time". today i did over 300 miles and had the Garmin paired with the iPad for traffic and weather (though the weather is ridiculously inaccurate) and used mt phone as I always do plugged into head unit. That works but is annoying I have to use both. The 665 used XM for the traffic and weather (weather was just as inaccurate). All that being said, I did use the "curvy road" setting a d it was great. Took me a path I had never gone before which was awesome. All in all though it is annoying to have to use both, I will take the trade off. Considering the discount I got on the 590 and after reading the comparison between the 590 and 595, I am good now with the deal.

iPad only for the garmin, I listen to the Kenwood head unit through the speakers. I plug my phone in and usually use either Pandora or iPod through the phone because it has the cleanest sound. Sound not as clean if I bluetooth the music to the head unit. I do not use the Garmin for music and do not have it running through the amps. I do have it hooked up directly to the front speakers and use a diverter switch for the front speakers if I want to use the turn by turn instructions which I never do
