HD Experienced Rider Course Worth the Trouble
« on: February 20, 2016, 05:00:56 PM »

Just to get better at handling the weight of my RGU I took the dealers Experienced Rider Course last fall.  Dealer gave me the customary 15% discount for recent purchase so ended up being $90.  Thought that was a lot for a 6 hour course but wanted to do it.  Course was fun and got a bit better at the slow speed turns.  This week I finally got around to turning it in to Geico and they told me I'll get $50 a year off for 3 years.  Guess I'll keep taking this every three years since its basically free.

I have taken the experienced rider course twice.  Learned both times, and saves on insurance.  I took ride like a pro once.  I do think they help improve your bike handling skills.

Thing is, you still have to practice them frequently or you loose them.  I ride on the range, the box and all about once or twice a month to practice.

I haven't had the course since 2011, but HD or HOG, can't remember which. Reimbursed me $50 the best I remember, all I had to do was pick-up a form from the dealer and submit it.
I have taken it twice, in 2004 and again in 2011 and both time I learned, or remembered stuff. Always feel it is worth it. And HD or HOG (whichever) paid both times.
