Anyone notice yellowing of header pipe?
« on: March 01, 2016, 01:07:33 AM »

I have a 2015 Road Glide Ultra CVO that I bought late in 2015 and just got 1000 miles on it. At around 500 miles I put on a pair of Screaming Eagle Fatshotz slipons which I recently noticed the right one (brake side) start to discolor where it connects to the header.  I'd had Rineharts before on my previous bike, a 2012 RGU, that were installed on day 1 from the dealer and showed no signs of discoloration in the 3.5 years I own the bike before trading it for the CVO.  I looked closer and noticed the head pipe on that side was also showing signs of the same yellow discoloration. Anyone seen this?  Again never had this problem on my prior bike. Is this normal for 110s?

Thanks and that could be it.  I'm running stock setup and only added the slip-ons.  Though as noted...at least for the first 6-9 months on my prior bike...I only added the slip-ons with no tune change.  Later I did the Stage 1 with air cleaner, then header pipes then PowerVision tuner.  But in that first 9 months...never noticed any discoloration.  Maybe the 110 on the 2015 is running leaner than the 103 on my previous 2012?

When installing baffles on my 2015 limited I noticed that one of my stock mufflers was starting to yellow. When I  Took it apart, the insulation was all messed up and stuffed in only one end. The other muffler insulation was fine and no yellowing on can. 2000 miles on bike at that time.
