Need you guys to help me out. Have 2012 FLHXSE3 and putting a PM 23" wheel on the front with Pickard Triple tree and Progesive springs and fender from Joe at Extreme.  The shop putting front end on called yesterday and said fender will hit oil cooler and I need to take it off. Talked to Joe at Extreme and he showed me pics a few fenders he was doing for 23" wheel and pic of 2013 CVO RG with same fender on it with lot room from the oil cooler and said he was doing fenders for same bike as mine.   He said he had never of this problem. Everything I read in doing research,  nothing was ever mentioned about fender hitting oil cooler.  Does anyone have an idea of what my problem is?

Lower pinch bolts tightened with front end off the ground or maybe wrong part (degree of angle) from Pickard?

Picked up bike from shop with 23" wheel on.  Going down freeway it rides fine, even at 90 mph but having to brake fairly hard and fast on freeway the front end shimmys  a bit.  When in town on a street going slow maybe 10 mph when I grab the front brake to do a sudden stop, I get clank and front end moves a bit.  My question? Is the clanking the limiters stopping  the fender from being hit? The fender has no marks or dents. Basically I get a clank with front end moved a bit when stopping quickly.   The shop doing the work as do I have very little experience doing 23" wheels.  So I don't know what to expect with 23" wheel.  Is clanking and movement of front end normal?

23" wheels with travel limiters "clunk". The limiters combined with the trees and you lost travel with the 23". IMO 23" wheel/trees with air ride would be a nice setup. You'd get your front end travel back. The 26" and 30" bikes gain travel due to the rake. I believe a 23" with a cut neck (greater rake) gets you your travel back. In the end, yes the clunk is common with 23's. Change the fork oil to something thicker (I'd have to read my thread to see what I used). The thicker oil helps.

Ok thanks. So knowing that now I do feel better knowing. It should have 30w for forks. I have read that it is not uncommon for some air ride suspension to leak?
