Hey Dave, what kind of Ohlin's do you have on your bike?  Visiting the Ohlin website and they only go up through the 2012 model year on Harleys.

I'm pretty sure same ones I have. HD 159 or if you use Howard's site, the 3-3.

Ohlin Rear Shock service
« Reply #19 on: March 18, 2016, 01:06:13 AM »

I have 3-3s that are leaking. I sent them to Howard a short while ago for a repair/ rebuild.
I don't actually *know* what the charge will be.
I talked to him last summer and he quoted 189, but all this time has passed, so I don't know what it is now. I sent them and then called to tell him why and what I needed. He was pretty flustered because he was working on prep for Daytona. I'm patiently waiting for the email or call to let me know the time and cost. I sure hope it's the 189(!)

I had to put the stock air shocks back on the Ultra and holy crap, I forgot just how horrible they are.

Do you think the Ohlins tent would do fronts as well? Ride it in, leave it all day, and pick it up with Ohlins up front to match what I have in the rear?

No.  I asked and they do not have any plans at this point to add the option to do that.

When I came across the Ohlins tent in Daytona and talked to Matthew,  Thought we were gonna wrestle when I stuffed a 20 in his pocket.  1200 miles back to Dallas and this bike has NEVER felt better.

Mathew is who I dealt with for the rebuild.  Good guy.  Dealt with him for the sale at Biketoberfest in 2014.

The 159's are what I have.

Ohlin is over neat Asheville NC, and if I remember right they will install and set up at their shop the rear suspension, but not the front.

Hendersonville, NC I believe.

Where did you purchase your shocks?  Looking again at their website, they only list dealers so I'm guessing they don't sell direct.

I bought mine at the vendor booth in Daytona, Biketober Fest 2014.

I was under the impression they would sell direct.  Could be wrong, I know they said if I rode over they would rebuild shocks so I didn't have to pay shipping.

Mine are currently on their way back from Howard, having been fully rebuilt.
I've had to put up with the disgusting stock units while he's had my Ohlins... man, I had forgotten how much I disliked the stock ones!

Thanks spoke to Howard, going with the #3 option.

In the process of filling out the form, is the length of shock 13" for the 2015 CVO RGU?

Any other suggestions when filling out the form?

Mostly 1 up riding and no gear.

Cheers!
