Seems to me when I bought my first CVO (2000 SERG)  the discussion with the wife went something like this

" well honey it's the difference between a pair of Menolo Blahnick's and a pair of Thom McCann's "

She said " Buy it "

B B
Great analogy Brian. The fairer sex often needs see our needs under their own microscope. Sure beats trying to convice her that buying a CVO will save her money because it comes from the factory fully equipped. Not.....

Allow me to chime in to this as well. The CVO is not only a bike but a cult. I have owned the 2002 CVO Road King Grape and sold it to a buddy and miss that bike like crazy. I had 3 other HD's in between my new Ultra and am at peace having my CVO back in my garage. The bike carries great deal of engineering done ahead of the OEM bikes. in 2002 it had the 95 motor and in 2003 HD released the 103 only in the CVO. The OEM was still an 88. So the CVO was always not only different in paint, chrome but in its power plant. Today OEM is a 96 and the CVO as we all know is a 110. Once you have one you just don't want to go back.

It's the experience within the experience. :apple: :orange:

Yea wouldn't it be great to have a specific upgrade and parts catalog for maybe just CVO bikes?

The transmission cover bothers me.  The 2007 P&A catalog has an optional Screamin Eagle 6 speed cover for hydraulic clutches, but doesn't fit 2007 CVO.  That brings me to the big question?  Is the 2007CVO tranny the samr as all 2007 6 speeds?  The catalog has a SE tranny and gear set availabe.  And I quote "Add a Screamin Eagle 6 speed Transmission to your CVO motorcycle with OE hydraulic clutch..."
If you look at the fitment options, there is nothing for any 2007 models.
What's up with that?
Does that mean that the 2007 CVOs have this gear set?

Any thoughts?

Internally they could be the same but not externally due to the changes in the cases/motor for the 110ci. :nixweiss: I know now that the oil return line is internal where on the 88ci and 103ci they were external.

I have had a bitch of a time getting certain parts for my toy.

It would be wise to invest in the model specific repair manual for the correct part #s when you walk into the stealer. Often times they don't have the proper manuals themselves and will try to force stock model parts on you. I have found significant differences in fittings and flanges between stock FXR/FXD parts and stuff for the FXR3

I agree and usually buy every available model specific manual and chart. usually have more info than dealer and have frequently found and corrected errors before ordering.  usually 2-300 bucks  but saved  that in frustration after a few whoops experiences. ::)

Well the part # for the ' 07 counter shaft ass (5th and 6th) is 35470-06  see if it compares to the se optional one and if so we can further compare the other gears :nixweiss:

99483-07,99497-07,99428-07,99500-07  are the 4 manuals.   service manual, electrical diagonistic manual, parts catalog, & service manual supplement(cuse2)  respectively.    99949-07  is the 43 page  (2ft X 1.5ft) 2007 domestic and international wiring diagram although only in the service manual supplement are the accurate and neccessary wiring diagrams for the cuse2.  I battled wits with the dealers best elec guy over my inop heated seat after diagonoising it at home and taking it to them. We went round and round about electrical short and he took me to service area and showed me (tought) me the problem using his wiring diagram then I whipped out the diagram in the supplement and tought him   the difference in the schematics and the reason he spent 2 hours chasing his tail by using the wrong manual.  He said they didnt have the supplement!!  and appologized.  so lesson is the cvo wiring is only shown correctly in that supplement and the cool big wall chart just might cause me to have to buy a non cvo bike to justify having it? :nixweiss:   now that supplement is cvo model specific  so the 99500-07 is Jester only
