Have I mentioned lately what a great wife I have??
« on: April 06, 2016, 07:36:19 PM »

Quick rundown,, last week was my birthday. For the last several years Debi and I seem to have a hard time trying to figure out what to do for each other giftwise for Birthdays, anniversary and Christmas gifts.  Neither one of us are what you might call "feeling the need to be showered with gifts" on those occasions. We've taken our "gift funds" in the past and donated to people in more need than ourselves. Normally if we see something we'd like to have we just get it. We're not wealthy by any means but we live very comfortably and don't miss out on things we'd like to do or dig ourselves in a hole to do it.
With that long winded part done I'll move on. She tells me last week that the item she ordered for my B'Day would not be here on time. I'm thinking to myself, "now what could she have ordered for me as we don't give each other ideas because of reasons mentioned earlier."
Here it is:

That J&S Jack I've been talking about for the last year. One of those things that I said I'd get someday but was too cheap to spend the money on myself even though it's well within the budget. Always was looking for a good deal on a lightly used one.

Did I mention how great my wife is?

That's a great gift. My jack was a gift from my wife 26 years ago.

Hmmmmm.  My wife told me if I wanted a J&S that bad to order one.  But that's how we work our birthdays anymore.  We both buy ourselves what we want...within reason, of course.

But...it's still nice to have a wife who doesn't complain about how I drive the bike or where we eat or stay, or for the hard time I give her when takes her sweet time about getting ready each morning.  She always seems to have a good time on our trips , and that makes it easy on me.

Enjoy that new jack, Mike!  Give us a picture of it and a review!  I may end up buying one yet!   :P

You are a lucky man indeed.  Be sure to return the favor with something as thoughtful for her.  Trust me, it makes giving easier and a lot of fun.

Re: the jack, you're going to love the J&S.  It's the best tool in my garage.

Congrats on the new lift.

I got you all beat. I had known my then girlfriend for 30 days and she bought me a new Heritage. I had lost a job and the bike was coming in after waiting for over a year. 7 bikes later and I can't get her off the back. I guess she thinks she has a vested interest. For the past 20 years the gifts like that have dropped off....

The J&S jack was a great choice and a wonderful gift! You are indeed blessed with such a wonderful spouse...

I've had my bike stored at RayG's in New Hampshire over the winter, sitting on my J&S jack. His Road King CVO is on his Bulldog jack. He indicated the J&S is much easier to roll round the work area and he prefers it over his. I think they both do a great job, but I like the smaller footprint of the J&S.
