MT9 file for older model TTS?
« on: April 11, 2016, 01:39:51 AM »

Hi guys- I asked this over on the TTS section, but I guess Steve is busy and I need to know the answer soon.

I have the old black box TTS tuning device that I bought in 2010. I just updated it using the TTS updater.

I have a starter map that was sent me to use just to fire the bike up once I get his 113 kit assembled. This map he sent is a "MT9" map. Will I be able to download this map onto my bike using my older version tuner?

Thanks.

I don't know for sure.

But...

If you have updated the device, and updated the software on your computer, can you open the .mt9 file?

I would think you would get a fail to open with a warning that the mt9 is not compatible with your model of device.

Just a guess.

As long as the calibration is for your year and model of bike it will work.

Thanks. I think it is for my year. The engine isnt together yet so not sure if will accept the download. But, I guess I can still try and download the map before hand?

Ive only used the TTS myself once back in 2010. Which port on the thing on the side do I plug into- the one towards the back of the bike or the front?

The data port on the 09 is a grey connector under the left side cover.

I sent the map and I have not tried it as I really have not seen the old black module in some time  , and if I do its for a older bike that currently no MT9 file are out for it yet.. I know Steve is working on them.. Like I said just try to load it , its no big deal if it does not work thats ok you are only doing heat cycles

True, I'm just doing heat cycles, but I wasn't sure if it would even start with my old map. If that's not an issue, then like you said no probs if it doesn't load.

I remember it was under the left side cover, but I seem to recall there were 2 ports that the TTS would plug into, but only one is the correct one?
