SECURITY SYSTEM SMART SIREN II KIT ON 2016 CVO PRO STREET?
« on: April 11, 2016, 11:06:05 AM »

I kept my H-D Security System Smart Siren II module and pager and want to install it on my CVO Pro Street, but before I go and take off the rear wheel to access the install location (behind splash panel) has anyone with a Breakout installed one?

Open the attached pdf (excerpt from the too large to post complete instructions).  You do need to elevate the rear of the bike, but it's not necessary to remove the tire and wheel to remove the splash shield.  Harley indicates this kit fits the 2016 Pro Street, and the instructions are the same for all Softails except the Rocker.

I am not a supporter of alarms, my wife is. We walked by a bike in Daytona this year that had a siren going full blast. The only response I heard was several people hopping the battery went dead soon.
I agreed.

Agreed, silent alarm with pager and a pistol works great.

I agree with pistol. But for the last 30 years before I retired I handled loss claims for major insurance carrier (adj). In my opinion, if someone steals my bike/car/boat/tool chest or whatever, I DO NOT WANT IT BACK. Let the insurance pay and I will buy me another one. I actually used to feel sorry for people that got there car or bike back after being gone for couple weeks, beat to hell. Insurance covered the damages but any internal damage was just not possible to diagnose. Trans that were mistreated, engine's over rev'd but still ran. No matter what anyone says (I would make them tear it down and inspect for internal damage) are full of it, insurance company will not pay for that. And if motor fails at some point in a few months or so, then they will cover it, but not a couple years. So steal mine just please keep it and I will keep my reciepts/invoices for stuff I have done and take my money and move on.

The CVO Pro Street comes with an audible alarm from the factory and to tell you the truth I hate it,  I want the pager feature (quite) and if need my EDC will be used if warranted.

My Custom Dynamics center brake light comes in today and I will remove the rear fender to wire it up and will try to access the rear filler panel to install the pager/alarm.

Dealer told me they can turn off the audible via programming.

I am an insurance adjuster on the property side, same holds true, the insurance companies only pay for what they can see, or what I can see and send them pictures of, they have no interest in removing or paying to remove anything to see what is hidden or internal.

I wish someone would steal my house so I can move to The TN/NC Mountain area. Lol

Since I already have a siren that came with the bike, with the siren II installed do you have 2 sirens? What happens with the original one?  :nixweiss:
