I am considering adding Motolights or Clearwater Darla's for my RGU.  I've had two sets of Motolights over the years and know how sweet they are, but I know next to nothing about the Clearwater lights for a Road Glide (or any Harley, for that matter), but I've heard good things about them.

So...if you have Clearwater's on your bike, please post a picture or two of them with your review about ease of installation and what you think of them so far.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have a picture and I will not be back to the bike in two weeks. But the Clearwater lights are great.

I have one set of Ericas on one of my bikes. 6,000 lumens and sturdy as heck.

I have mine wired to the CAN bus system so I can easily make adjustments to brightness levels and strobe functions while riding.

I have the Clearwater Darla's on mine and they are the brightest running light I have found yet. They also come with a dimmer switch that I mounted in my right glove box just to keep it out if the way. I believe you are able to dim them from 5% to like 75%  while headlights are on low beam, but they are full 100% output when the headlights are on high beam, you can't dim them while the headlights are on high beam.  Awesome lights. I originally had mine mounted low with mounts I made bolted to the front floorboard bolt, but since moved them up to the engine guard using the Harley running light mounts and the adjustable mounts that came with the kit. I liked the looks of them mounted lower, but was scared that I would drag them off, and at 450.00 price range figured I would move them

Another picture of the mount. Next will be the Custom Dynamic ringz for the turn signals.

Stripclub,
Very sweet!  Thanks for the pictures.  They seem to be tremendously bright, something I like.  Plus they are like $200 less than Motolights, which I don't think are near as bright.
Thanks a bunch for the pics and the post!

You can get the Darla's with a chrome front cover, I was unaware of this when I purchased mine, and they need to be ordered that way, they will not sell you the chrome trim after purchase. As far as wiring them up, it was easy ran power and ground to battery with inline fuse, had the wires for each light, that I ran internal in the engine guard, mounted the dimmer switch, pulled outer fairing made all my connections inside. Everything was soldered and heat shrink wrapped. Had to tie one wire into the high beam headlight circuit. My only complaint is the wire harness attached to the lights is a little short for the way I wanted to route them, no big deal I just extended them. Also the lights take very little amps draw to operate

You're not going to beat the lumens per $ of the Clearwaters but many of the form over function folks stick to the Moto's as theres more chrome. We have the Clearwater Erica's on three of our bikes with the Ultra having the newest addition. A couple months of exploring mounting possibilities and a bit of fabrication brought me to this.  Aesthetically they didn't turn out too bad, but I use them to see at night so my objective was met.

Thanks again to you and Trapperdog for the pics and info.  Yes, the Motolights are "prettier", but they're also less light for more money.
If you don't believe me about brightness, watch this video of the Darla's in action on a BMW.  My 50w Motolights never looked anywhere near this bright!

I did find the chrome covers for $50 on their website and noticed that they have to be ordered with the lights.  Those are polished stainless rather than chromed thin steel.  I like that.
Thanks for the heads up anyway!
Lastly, I found these mounting brackets from Kury for an engine guard mounting scenario.  I should be able to get a set for $40 delivered and they're thin enough to fit below my rider footpegs and inside the lower fairing, which as you know can't be removed on the new RGU's.
I just wrote Clearwater and asked them about them offering a discount to forum members.  We'll see.
