If you want to mess around a bit, you can use the factory HD one - 67900008. I did it on mine, same bike as you. You'll need to cut, drill, tap, etc. But it looks great and it uses the factory lamp still.

coloradotom Any chance of you posting some picks of the mods you did?

Sure no problem. But I didn't take too many pics - here's all I got. First, cut the wing off your brandy-new curved backplate mount. Then I cut the ears of the factory plastic and beveled those edges. Dry fit that on the factory plastic and kept beveling until it lays flat in the middle, the curved part will wrap around it. Then I drilled and tapped it for 6x 10-32 screws. And the screws can't fall out the plate will cover them. I've had mine on for about 8k miles and it hasn't loosened at all. And don't drill & tap any holes under the lamp area, you won't be able to use 'em. Then put it together on the bench and bolt it back up like from the factory.

Maybe its just me but it's not a 2015 SESG, it's a 2015 FLHXSE. Is it laziness or ignorance? I think laziness. Sorry but it's a pet peeve of mine.

Not to pass judgment, but with a name like "Smellymo" - you should probably be POLITE to people. Either way, welcome to the forum, you should probably start over...

Nice idea Tom!  Last year I tried to fit that Take-Off from my old bike to the new one, and never consider the modification.
Glad I didn't get rid of it!

I have a 11 SERG Ultra & I removed the tour pack & installed sg rear fillers. Does anyone make a license plate holder that will mount where my old turn signal assy was other than what I have?

Thats awesome. Glad to hear others like it. One thing I forgot to say is that I took some of the wife's clear nail polish and covered the section on the backplate where I cut the wing off with that stuff so it won't rust. Can't wait to see pics.

Okay, cut wing off of new piece, but what gets cut off the stock ate holder and where do I drill and tap? I LOVE the idea, and I bought and returned a Yaffe, because I don't agree with paying $$$ for a custom part that I have to modify. I'd rather modify a Stock Part to make it Custom. Great ingenuity on this, sorry if I'm confused. Believe it to not, I'm an Engineer - but it's always "Measure 2x, Cut 1x!" when I do something.

Look at the second pic I posted to see how much I took off. You pretty much have to eye it up and make it work. For mounting, I did holes on each corner, but you need to dry fit it first so you can see where it lays flat. Then I put 2 extra along the bottom but that's probably not necessary.

Inspired by this thread, I proceeded to get busy giving my old curved plate a new home, and found a slightly easier way to attach it.

Since the four screws that hold the plate on, are in exactly the same location on both styles, I just added enough length for them to go through both brackets.  Some chrome 1/4-20x 1'' flathead screws, flatwashers and nylock nuts did the trick.

I frankly have no idea what a FLHXSE is.  I barley know what a FLTRSE3 is (and I have one).  On the other hand if someone say a SESG I know exactly the line of bike they are talking about.

Lost way too much gray matter over the years to really care about what the official destination is and really don't care. More important things to remember.

  :nixweiss:

Remembering the wife's Birthday for me much more important  :'( Oh chit was that yesterday ???  ;D

Back to the post,... Nice plate mount mods look looking good :2vrolijk_21:
