Hillary 2008
« on: February 06, 2007, 07:35:00 PM »

One sunny day in 2008, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench.

He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton." The Marine replied, "Sir, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here." The old man said, "Okay," and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton." The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here."

The man thanked him and again walked away. The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Clinton. I've told you already several times that Mrs. Clinton is not the President and doesn't reside here. Don't you understand?"

The old man answered, "Oh, I understand you fine son, I just love hearing your answer!"

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow."

Joe, did that happen to be your own inspiration?  If not do you perhaps know the original source?

If Hillary and Barak Obama end up being the Democratic ticket we might actually have a president elected by a clear majority. Just when I thought the Democratic Party could not possibly get any more ignorant, they come up with these two. Obama might be a smart guy, he might be a leader, but nobody and I mean nobody when they're in the voting booth all by themself is gonna vote for a guy who's name rhymes with the #1 enemy of the United States of America. And it's got absolutely zero to do with his skin color. If his name were Rufus Jones he'd have a fighting chance, but Barak Obama  come on gimme a break. This might be 2007 but we're not ready for the President of The United States of America to have a name like that. And Hillary Clinton ? If she were a horse at Hollywood Park I'd handicap her at about 200/1/

I don't think you need worry Joe. This election is Rudy Guiliani's to lose or win depending on how well he holds his temper when the Press goes after him and whether or not the Rupublican's are dumb enough to pass him over in favor of a man I respect a great deal, but cannot support because he is now being a hypocrit in pandering to the right - - - - John McCain.

In my never humble opinion, I agree...and I claim to be an independent.

That is the same thought I've had since day one. Even if he went back to the first name he used up until he went into politics - Barry - it still doesn't shake the Osama sound. And Billary? Come on, now we know who will do the sizing up of the interns - no chance for being fired for cigar storage this time!

Some of us have pondered the idea of the two being on the same ticket too. We have determined it would not be safe for anyone. Hillary is the prez and someone shoots her so we can have our first afro-american prez. Obama is the prez and you get the same result. Sooner or later we end up with Pelosi and when you think of THAT, well none of us have the will to sign up for any of these choices.

I'm feeling really nauseated.., I think it is from thinking about the possibilities raised in this string.  I was in NYC before the election when Hillary was first running for Senate.  I asked several people from several walks of life, from cab drivers to corporate executives.  I found NO ONE that supported her or indicated they would come close to voting for her.  I don't know where her votes came from. Come to think of it, I still cannot believe Bill got a second term after all his screw ups in the first four years.
(Is is possible to rig an election as laree as those two?)

It's not about me being on the lefy EAGLE1, it's about John McCain 2000 and John McCain 2007. I would have voted for McCain 2000 but the RNC didn't get behind him. Don't know who McCain 2007 is. Not sure he knows himself. Didn't he call his Campaign Bus the Real Deal or Straight Deal or something like that in 2000 ? His new bus has gotta be named " what do you want to hear " It's a damn shame that he feels he needs to change his image. His old one was a role model.

Straight Talk Express.

Thanks Don,
Guess the RNC made him get a new one if he wants the nomination.

Running joke among a few staffers I've spoken to is the new bus will be called the "Equivocation Bumble Wagon."  In their circle it's funny as hell  :-\ .

Its all about the Almighty Vote, can't change that.  :2vrolijk_21:

the other day I went downtown and went into a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

I went up to him and said, "Come on, man, how about giving a guy a break"? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a "Nazi." He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "Doughnut Eating Gestapo." He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20
minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said "Hillary in '08."
