Sorry, can't help you. One of the reasons I ride is to get away from my phone.

You also may want to put what bike you have in profile or signature. It makes it alot easier for those trying to help.

Attached is an image of my phone mount Toneaero. Although this shows a iPhone 5S, I now have a 6S Plus which fits well into the Kuryakyn cradle, even with the phone in a protective case. I use my phone to navigate, stream music and listen to audio-books. As bigchuck indicated, I too have zero interest in being on the phone and riding is a release to get away from that, so I don't make or accept calls when riding and have no desire to do so. I have a waterproof sleeve I can use to cover the phone, modified to accept the power cable  if I run into rain and still need to keep it mounted.

Didn't think of navigation. That is a good reason for a mount

I use the RAM Mount system.

Very easy to transfer back to my car.

I like the RAM products as they have many universal applications that allow you to easily adapt to other vehicles or mounting surfaces.

Mine rides in my tour pack on a charger that way when I am at a stop I can check it if need be.  Hard enough to stay alive around here without the distraction of phone calls.  JMHO

So far im leaning towards the Harley designed phone mount.  I'm not super excited about the Ram style phone mounts they have.  I'm sure they are great products, but the way it looks without a phone mounted is too weird.

To clear the air on safety, I only plan on using the phone for navigation and playlist selection.  The OEM nav radio's navigation is less than desirable when compared to nav apps like Waze.  I also would love to choose different pandora playlists too while im stopped at a stoplight.  All of this would be impossible with the phone in the saddlebags.

Thanks again for all the ideas.  Keep them coming!

I think we're all wise enough to know when and how to use the phone for safety sake. I don't think any of us plan to ride and text like a 20 year old in a Mazda.

My bike is an '06 so my phone is used mostly for GPS with the audio piped into my helmet via Bluetooth. When properly trained and used, I imagine it can't be any unsafer than the infotainment systems that come on the new bikes.

But I could be wrong.

'Been using the Kury Techmount for around 40k mi. now, works great, durable, would buy another...

The Kury looks identical to the HD, I'm betting the same company makes both.

I decided to do the phone mount that Harley sells on their website. It fits up to 3.5" so it works with my giant iPhone 6s+.  It puts the phone where I want it.  But I have to do landscape to avoid blocking the left speaker though. No big deal since most of my apps (live nav) can run sideways.

Only bummer is that even on the tightest setting, the phone will start to droop from vibration and road bumps.  Probably would be fine with a lighter/smaller phone.  I can probably add some kind of friction element in the ball joint.  Also no worries on the mount losing grip of my phone. Now is it worth $70..... #harleytax

I use this mount as well, but it is butt ugly especially when not in use
