HD Street Performance. Give Don Dorfman a call. 253-691-5893
Just the information you will get is worth the call.

Yes, I intend to do just that. Already got an email from him but the Zippers email went prior and took awhile to return.

My 113" has Don's (HD Street Perf.) heads on it. I say my,  former, I sold it. New owner won the dyno shoot out at the HD dealer couple months ago. Beat out 2 high dollar TMan builds.
Would be a difficult decision between Dorfman & Sachs.

I see you are in Greenville.  Since you are considering proximity, give Sam's Performance Specialties in Charleston a call.  His work is at least equal to anyone else's mentioned.  (No knock intended on anyone mentioned.)

i went Tman, and used one of his package deals, the intake valve was up sized to a 2.130 and used his piston that is .005 over that have reliefs in them to his spec. (the guess work already done)  so my thinking is you will have same issue with piston to valve clearance that zippers mentioned if your staying with your SE pistons and plan on using an over sized intake valve

Get with John Sachs. .  There isn't any one I know of that doesn't rave about his work. . He is truly the master when it comes room heads and you won't find anyone as knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. .  Dropping the mic. .  I'm out.  Stuart.  :drink:

My last experience with Baisley's was turning my 110 heads into his Pro Street job. $1750. I think there are plenty better choices for a lot less $$$. Mine were done before all the indy's figured out the Beehive springs and better guides and seals. Mine failed twice and were redone with the same bad guts. :nervous: I hope by now Dan has changed what he uses for guides and seals and springs as well as the headwork.

Since we were using the T-man 625s in the 117 I thought it would make sense to go with with T-Man CVO Street Performer Heads. 30,000 miles later I am still pleasantly surprised with how strong the bike is everywhere, no issues whatsoever, no oil consumption, the heads bolted right on ( T-man did not have the Pistons, we just gave him the specs over the phone) and work well with the Revolution Performance Piston/ Cylinder kit.

I agree with others here that John Sachs is probably one of the best in the country, if not the world...

Running a zippers 107 muscle kit in an old road glide. Very pleased with the way the old girl runs.

Thanks for all the replies. For an update, Tman wanted me to buy their pistons along with the head work. Zippers wanted me to buy a whole new engine kit. Both down-talked the SE flat topped pistons.  I also called several builders on this forum, but they were backed up longer than I wanted to wait. Guess that happens when you do good work. Finally decided to go with Ward Performance. They did a CNC port and their "competition valve job" with a six day turnaround. Picking up the bike today. Tuner wants 500 miles on the bike (first 50 on the dyno), then I bring it back for a dyno tune. Should have new numbers in about a week.

RD,

Can't wait to hear your results. Cool to see your results from stock (so to speak) 117" build to 117" with head work.

Good luck.

That's why I told myself not to even start thinking about it until November.

If I behave anything like I have the last two winters, it'll go on the lift around Thanksgiving and get rolled off around 4/1.  Wish they were joking about the bill though  :'(
