Diagnostic port plug replacement
« on: May 01, 2016, 09:18:15 AM »

Anyone know the part number for the rubber plug for the diagnostic connector?
Mine got was touching the pipe and half melted.
Don't want to leave it like that as it will be pretty obvious someone's been messing with it!

These must be common connectors, amphenol or deutsch ??

How do you get that tether on the datalink cable, does the cable unplug from the ECM end?
It's too small to stretch over the datalink connector I'm sure.

Maybe zip tie
That won't look quite "stock" haha.
I may try slitting it and super glue it back together once I slip it on the cable.

Do you have a 6 or 4 pin connector.  If the is for a 2016 touring.  You need the 6 pin.  You have to depin the connector and then slid on the cap.  Good news is that the Deutsch are the easies to depin and only a small screw driver is needed.

Sorry, I don't have the PN for the 6 pin plug.

The proper way is to remove the individual terminal pins from the connector shell, install the tether over the wires, and then reinstall the terminal pins in the correct slots in the connector shell.  With the correct tools it's a simple process.

It has both, 4-pin and 6-pin connectors.
The TTS is a 6-pin.
I'll ask the dealer I guess for the 6 pin version?

Thanks Jerry.
Went into the dealer and that was the number they came up with (I wasn't sure they really knew if that was the part or not).
Good to know they got it right.
