New Compensator
« on: May 05, 2016, 07:10:59 PM »

Just got the compensator replaced!  Fantastic! And my Indy shop only charged me 2 hours of labor to replace the compensator and clutch friction discs.  Less noise, really tightened the bike up. 2009 SERG

How much are the clutch friction discs? Mine are original- 51,000 miles. Might want to change them next time I'm in there.

For the price that the HD model cost and the trouble we all are having with them, I think I would have switched to the Baker compensator.

The stock 9 friction disk package is $185.  You re-use the steels if they are not blue, gouged, or out of flat more than .0060.  They are $14 each.

I have a Harley FXR4 CVO with a S&S V111 that has the original harley compensator. It works just fine. Over 55k miles with the Big motor. At 65 miles I replaced the primary chain. The Baker looks very similar to the earlier EVO style.
