throttle blad control
« on: May 06, 2016, 11:49:04 AM »

Anyone have  a map of just the throttle blade,  other than what is in the  SE race tuner.
what I want to do is make it a bit more aggressive than the map setup that is in the map I am using .
build is the 117  kit, running about 10:8. compression.
I just need the little map of the numbers  for progressitivity, and I can make changes .
Thanks

You might want to post this in the Intake/Exhaust/ECM board. The only tuner that MAY be able to accomplish this would be the Thunder Max

strange  why only a thunder max can do it.   ii was looking at the tables and it would appear I can if I know what to do or what numbers to use  I can get it done using my  SE race tuner?

SEPST, TTS and PV can all accomplish this--- NOT just Thundermax.

thanks . I guess nobody has a good map for throttle blade  they would share.  I will  get it done regardless,  just will take some looking and experimenting.

Just increase the numbers in the areas that you would like quicker response.

I would suggest downloading and looking at TTS cals for 08 and above.  Plenty of examples in the 205, 044, 009, and 617 cal levels.

Just opening it up isn't always going to be a positive result.  A couple of factors that can hurt you is intake reversion and fuel standoff.  You want the blade to open enough to get the amount of air you want and you want it closed enough not to introduce reversion.  If you are at 100kpa with throttle open 80%.  Opening it up to 100% wont gain you anything.  You can actually help a low end tq dip by closing the blade.  Slamming a blade open takes away all the velocity.

Kind of a request that most know little or nothing about. May take more than an hour but lm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

I'm sure there are many different theories about how you could or should adjust the throttle response curve, but I think back to the days before Harley adopted this system to protect their fragile crank and other parts, and we all seemed to get along just fine with a one to one response curve.  That's the way it was for a centuries worth of carb bikes, and for the EFI bikes until recently.

If you're just trying to make it respond like a cable, set it up as a one to one relationship and see what you think.  In other words, change the values in the table to match the throttle blade percentage to the throttle grip percentage at each setting.

I have tried that, decide to mess with things a little and did find when I slow the blade down it does tend to roll on noticeably faster than 1 to 1 ratio.  I just need to look things over  but it is all new to me.. I usually do not mess with things, but I like to get what I can out of these builds.

thanks for that info  now if I were smart nuff to or had a dyno to sort it all out. problem  is I am not hip to al this stuff. all I can do is experiment  for now.
Thanks again.

may make a difference if I knew how far and fast to open the blade. I think that is the reason for the adjustment.
