My current bike is the only one I have owned since '99 that didn't have a HD Chrome inner primary. They have all been excellent, never had a problem with the chrome on any of them. Hard to beat the HD price anymore due to chrome being so expensive and if you don't have a very high quality shop do the chroming it will peel, alloy is harder to chrome than steel.

I have had chrome inner primary  on a old Shovelhead but on a earlier EVO I had a black inner primary.  I like the contrasting of Chrome rockers, aluminum heads, black cylinders, aluminum cases,
Black inner primary and a chrome outer primary. I like the contrast.

X2!  I used Brown's Plating for all my previous Baggers, but Jody talked me into HD this time.  Looks good!  Later--HUBBARD

I have the HD chrome inner primary with the black outer. Quite a bit of contrasting chrome and black came on my 12 RG including a chrome derby cover so I thought (think) it goes well.

Yeah.....ain't that a bitch?  Something to do with EPA, (employment prevention administration), wudn't it?  Maybe not.  Tilley told me about it, but I don't remember.  Later--HUBBARD

Yup, it had to do with the cost of meeting all the EPA criteria.
