xm radio goes to am while using navagation

 I have a 2016 cvo streetglide and while on a trip the xm radio would switch to am while using nav. This happened many times while on a 1400 mile trip. Has anyone seen any issues or a fix for this?

I've had that happen a few times. Always thought it was overhead power lines interfering with it.

I have had many strange things happen with the head unit, some while using Nav but that is not one of them.

I have over 35,000 miles on my 15 and have used the Nav lots.  Switching music source while using NAV has not happened.

What Verizon of firmware are you on. I have not seen that on my bike. If you have the latest firmware I would try a factory reset and see if that fixes it.

  I just updated to 19.2 last night. I will see if it fixes it. I called hd customer service and of course they never heard of such a thing.

Does it actually switch to AM? or does it get interrupted occasionally with am sounding audio?

I ask this, because if you have weather alerts turned on, it can sound like the radio is switching over to am intermittently.

Verify your settings, if you think that might be the case.  I had the volume for alerts turned way down, so mine sounded like it was breaking up.

On mine it switched to AM. Come to think of it, mine seems to do it in heavy construction areas. Dunno if that makes a difference. Lots of stop and go traffic with all kinds of power lines overhead.

My type o Should have been version and It should be 1.19.2
What is 14.2 that you are talking about is that the maps if so you need to check the firmware version also.

Induction (under power lines) would not change the station so that is probably just a coincidence.

It didn't change the station, it interrupted the  XM and it lost signal. It then switched to am.

Is automatically switching to a different source when one is interrupted a documented feature?  I've never seen that occur on my Sirius equipped four wheeled vehicles.  If the transmission is interrupted for whatever reason on those, I get a simple message on the display indicating the loss of signal but the head unit does not switch to a different source.  That is up to me to do.  I guess what I'm asking is this, is this automatic switching to AM a feature, or a bug?  Unless the last band you used before switching to XM was AM, I don't think it's a designed in feature.

It actually switches to am and I have to switch it back to xm.

It is 19.2 that I upgraded to not 14.2
