I've read much about the 117 upgrade in other threads but not much in the SERK one.
Especially for an older model. So.....
Does anyone foresee problems with installing the HD 117ci performance kit on a 2007 SERK that has 35,000 miles.
I'd like to follow up with a dyno tune to be able to get the most performance possible.
The engine recall was done at the time it was issued years ago to correct the heat problem with the back cylinder and since then there has been no problems.
Among other supporting equipment the the kit includes:
SE 4.125" bold on cylinders
9.9.1 compression pistons and rings
SE-259E cams
Perfect-Fit Pushrods
Heavy duty clutch spring.
I'm far from an engine builder/mechanic. But, to me, the kit sounds like it would contain most of what I'd need to build a mostly new engine.
My main worry is the mileage and age as well as the crank and other bottom end components and I wonder if the kit and dyno would be excessive or downright deadly to the engine.
Thoughts?
