I'll be 54 this year and I find it hard to tolerate things around me. Bad drivers, loud music coming from cars, people having little or no respect for each other. And the list goes on. Now I'm thinking of putting my stock mufflers back on my bike because I'm tired of having the constant noise in my head. Is it just me or am I not alone?

Don't listen to music as loud as I used to and bikes aren't as loud as they used to be, either.

My tolerance level for stupidity has never been exactly age driven, but when you get into your 60s it may not appear to be as bad. It’s still there certainly but you start to mellow out a bit. It takes a lot more aggravation before I react these days… An attempt to run me over like the jerk in Florida would certainly do it as an example – LOL.

Just turn 51 and I'm right there with you except for the stock mufflers.

Tolerance for stupidity have never been something I was good at.  Heading towards 60 and I have reduced my exhaust loudness. I like load but on longer rides it gets old. I prefer a mellow sound now but still want sound.

Same here,  on the way to 74 later this year.  Only have one local riding buddy close by and he begs off on any lengthy rides anymore due to bad knees, hips or whatever.  As a result,  my milage is low and my 4" Rineharts and tunes get played mostly out on the back roads by myself.

I would rather listen to the sound of my exhaust than a radio or chit-chat over a head set. At sixty-eight and climbing I don't have the tolerance for stupidity or the inconsideration of today's ( it's all about me ) generation. In my fifties the same things didn't even register on my aggravation meter. Oh well, we all are getting older and some earlier than others. I may grow old but never grow up!
The long rides are the best.
