Removing Baffles
« on: June 14, 2016, 01:23:17 PM »

Hey guys I'm new here so if this topic has already been covered I apologize.
I have a 2004 Electra Glide, 103 SE with Andrews 37 cams, cam bearings and plate plus SE oil pump and SE chain tensioners.  I'm running a power commander with Rinehart true duels but want a deeper sound.  I was thinking of removing the baffles but I'm concerned that I will have to get the bike re tuned or will the commander adjust?  Any thoughts or has anyone done this?

The only thing you will gain is noise. Not sound, just noise and yes you would probably need to have it retuned as you will loose all the exhaust back-pressure and torque. Reinharts are already pretty loud, I have a buddy with them and we make him ride in the rear so the rest of us don't experience hearing loss and you want it louder? IMHO not a good idea.

I finally got home to ride my new 2016 TFSE, and I added the 4" Rineharts. I rode it a few days then had the 2.5" race baffles installed. Didn't notice a lot of noise. But it sounds better now with the Rineharts.
Almost 3,000 miles of riding and not even three weeks old.

Don't do Dat!!!  You will and a loud rotten riding bike.  You need that back pressure.  Rhineharts aren't loud enough? .  I'm glad we don't ride together. . . Stuart.
