Thinking of new used CVO
« on: June 15, 2016, 03:33:21 PM »

I have been thinking about upgrading my 2008 FLHTCU Anniversary edition to a used 2015 or 2016 Ultra Limited CVO. I started on cycle trader and then ebay and I am absolutely floored by what people, both private and dealers are asking for these bikes. Most I have found are within a grand or so of what a new one would cost! I refuse to buy new though. I also figured a one year old low mileage unit would be cheaper than new and far from wore out. But that does not appear to be the case!

On another note were the fluid leaks and radio problems fixed by the time the 2015's came out?

take a look at this one:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=106746.0

looks to be a very nice ride, and the price seems very good.  just a little over the 'trade in' value per kbb.  well under retail.

and another big plus, it's a roadglide  :2vrolijk_21: :pepper: :2vrolijk_21:

You are correct, that is a very good looking deal and you are also correct that it is a road glide! unfortunately I am not allowed to purchase one of those, as my wife puts it  :)

That's funny right there.

There are some good deals out there.....just have to keep searching.  But when you run across one of those good deals you have to be ready to pull the trigger before somebody else looking for the same deal.  I found my bike with matching Bushtec on ebay all the way on the east coast (I'm in San Diego).  Contacted Hubbard and Chip and the rest is history......the ride home from the east coast was great!    Andy also bought a bike unseen, asking for members of this forum to help out.....it was back east also.

The deals are out there.....be patient and check every day.  Good luck!  :2vrolijk_21:   You are going to love the new frame.

I also have a 13 CVO Ultra so I am aware of the new frame. Now I am thinking I need the new cooler 110. I rented an Ultra Limited Low last August in California and I could not believe the difference in the amount of heat coming off the bike, or I should say NOT coming off the bike, compared to my 13.

Yes it is. But I figured the liquid cooling should have had the same affect on the 110 as the 103.

Speaking only for myself, I'd prefer a bike with around 30K on the clock, but still under warranty. Knowing these 110s, I figure that if anything was going to grenade it would have happened before 30K. And the warranty covers you beyond that.

But I could be wrong.

I was in the same boat. Crazy prices on used CVO's. For a few grand more you could have a brand new one so that's what I did. New one for 36-37k or a used one for lower 30's.

Part of your pricing issue is the time of year right now, riding season. You would do better later in the fall. Maybe have a talk with the wife on the RG lol. Guess I found a good deal back in Oct 14, I found a 12 FLTRXSE for $25,500 it had 17k on it. Good luck you'll find one.

Wait until the 2017 models come out.  Prices drop right then, as the '15s will officially be 2 years old, and the '16s will be 1 yo.  Sellers can't argue it at that point.

Save your money. Take the money that you were going to spend and rework your existing bike to exactly what you want. Make it 100
Percent what you want.
