2009 CVO Springer tire options
« on: June 20, 2016, 09:32:27 PM »

Not too far down the road I get to change both of my tires on my 2009 CVO Springer. I have been using the HD Dunlops and they are pretty expensive. Additionally, they don't last very long. Is there an alternative suggested option for something more in the "all weather and less money" category?

Thanks/Sinker

What size are they?  Dunlop American Elite, Michelin Commander II, and Avons are all popular choices. Check on their websites for your fitment.

130/70R18 63V
240/40R18 79V

Avon, Metzler, Pirelli, Michelin, and of course Dunflop.  Some have both sizes, some only have the front in a bias ply (not radial).  Do an internet search of those sizes and you'll find all the various options.

The factory recommended tire for the rear is 240/55/R18. I can get Metzler ME880's but the rear tire will be 240/40/R18. Will this be an issue? Will the Metzler just be a little lower profile? Will this effect my handling?
