Curious about your theory regarding hot ambient temps and changing back to old original plugs? What was your reason also for buying the SE plugs to began with?
I feel like a stock compression HD is fine with OE plugs, have never seen need for SE (more expensive) plugs, apparently at some point you felt need for a different plug, was this based on visual inspection of plugs? some sort of dyno based test showing need based on fuel/air or what?

Solution to what problem?    :nervous:    :nixweiss:  I have the stock plugs and wires and my bike has run from 18 degrees to 114 degrees Fahrenheit with no problems.    :coolblue:

I was told the SE plugs were better due to multi spark and so I tried them...
I have the X pipe ,slip ons and tuner and was hoping to find a solution to the bike running cooler ?

I put the SE plugs in my bike with the SE wires and the bike ran good then it got hot outside so I put the regular plugs back in it and kept the SE wires and the bike runs great ...better then new. has anyone had any experience like this or is there a better solution?

The stock plugs and wires are actually very good and you don't need to waste money on SE or aftermarket snake oil.  Don't fall for bogus advertising claims or claims from your dealership, friends and others.

I have no idea what you meant by it got hot outside so you changed back to the stock plugs.  The spark plugs don't care what the outside temperature is, and if you have a performance problem related to the increase in outdoor temps, it isn't due to the spark plugs.  Time to look for the real problem elsewhere.

Whoever told you that is, to put it bluntly, FOS.  No matter how many extra ground electrodes they hang on a plug, you only get one spark per ignition cycle.  As I said in my previous post, don't fall for the snake oil.  And changing spark plugs is not going to make the engine run any cooler.  It's a big air (mostly) cooled engine sitting within inches of the rider, and it creates power by burning fuel which creates the heat that makes the whole thing work.  And the heat the rider feels from the actual engine is nothing compared to the heat radiated by those exhaust pipes which are also located within inches of the rider.

GRC
I was just asking and the point of it getting hotter outside is that the bike ran hotter... I appreciate the comments and I just thought I would ask I have a great running bike and I am glad I have it just trying new things.
as for the beer money I don't need money so that does not matter to me

Greg, did you know that if you use those expensive plugs with the multi-point tips made of virginal nipple blessed unobtanium then wire them together in serial you actually get an exponential growth in flame wave fuel flow torque expansion drive?

Sure hope all that exponential growth doesn't travel all the way back to the tank.

Lighten up dude, if you can't enjoy a little fun you really are in the wrong place.  Spark plugs are a topic that's come up many many many many many many many times before.  Seriously; many.  If you'd tried the "search" feature you'd have see all the many many many many many many; seriously, many discussions that always end with the same thing.  Hocum, snake oil and bupkus.  Just use the stock plugs.  Save a buck or three and buy beer and have fun.  have a good day mate  :drink: .

Just want to make sure I understand the rules again Greg.  Just to be certain.  It's not cool to make fun of FNGs (and we would NEVER do that) but it is ok to make fun of Dood and Uncle Mikey?  Right?

mstodd28,  please see the p.m. I sent you. Getting bad advice from Harley service departments seems to be a rather common problem. We see it so much that we make fun of it. And yes, you can make fun of me anytime!

By the way, I Don't Mess with Texas and I sure as heck don't mess with Texans!
