What about the HD Longblock Program? Anyone heard or read about it,
or already made an experience with that?

Bandit, you got good taste in bikes if I may say so myself.  8)  Instead of slapping a 110 long block in why not put a S&S motor in it??

just thinking outloud here, good luck with that motorsikle and keep us apprised.

How would a person buy a long block motor if they didn't have an original left hand case?

I'm thinking that it may be easier to get myself a 110" "B" motor new through the long block program for a new project, than to try the eBay way.  "B" motors are very scarce on eBay.  I see lots of the earlier 88" motors, but very few '08 and newer.  I will be looking for an '08 or newer when I buy.

At least with the long block program I have a new motor and can cam it however I want.  I'll be doing carb to keep it simpler and a Thunder Heart standalone ignition system.  This eliminates the need for an ECM and tons of extra wiring.

Sorry for hijacking the thread guys.   :(

Harley just replaced my 110 after a lifter failure/engine seizure at 8k miles. I'm looking for any and every way to make my engine last longer. I've already put over 1k miles on the new motor and about to take it in for service.

The reason they want the left hand side of the engine is to confirm the VIN# then put the same VIN# on the long block, then destroy the left had side you sent.  Can't have two engines with the same VIN#..

The dealer said that the Longblock program is no option for him.
I don't know if this is true for whole Europe or just for France,
but that's what he told me. So I've to stick with replace the
broken parts and get the bike back on the road.

You might put your bike in your profile info so readers know which year it is; HD changed the lifters for the 2013 M.Y. CVOs.  Many people, including myself, have changed lifters in their bikes to pin the grenade.
