UPDATE ON MY 05 SEEG TANK AND FENDER.

Mike, I don't remember you talking previously about any mechanical or other systems problems with the green bike.  If that's right does the "lemon law" still apply?  I ask because I have not a clue what the answer is.  Even if it does apply to cosmetic as well as systems failures you're not really interested in entertaining such an offer after the work you've done to the bike are you?  Guess it is certainly well worth having as an option for leverage to push the dealership along if need be.  But that'd be a tough choice to have to make.  Good luck man....  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

No I don't want to get rid of this bike, heck, I'm just getting it dialed in. The service manager was just referring to the fact that if he had followed the recommended procedure, the bike would have been out of service for over 90 days, which would have  caused it to fall under the lemon law. This is info from the service manager. I don't know if it's accurate or not.
I do know that if I had been without my bike for over 90 days because of bad paint I would have been one very pissed off biker.
Bottom line is I really like the bike, the paint is just a semi - minor PITA.

Twolane;
I was just talking to a friend of mine who has a cobalt 04 SEEG. One of his major complaints was the suspension. I told him about your bike, and that I hoped to get with you soon so I can feel those progressive 440's. He is very interested in what I find out because he also is considering the rear shock change.
Changes so far are Wild one WO 575's, Sundowner RK Classic seat, Tall backrest bar with RK Classic small pad, (the stock seat with the stock sissy bar and pad goes back on when solo), Mustang driver backrest, King tour pak, tune trapper, highway pegs, heated grips, rear crash bars with crash bar bags, RK Classic emblem under the tag in place of the cheap plastic button, chrome license plate frame, XM Radio, 8" dark tint flat-top wide WS, Fairing deflectors, and chrome windshield fairing trim........Yikes! , I told the wife that I wouldn't change much on this bike......what the hell, it's a fun hobby!.....Merry Christmas!!!!

Mobe, just sent you a PM with phone number.  Looks like we've got good weather in the afternoons next week so just let me know when you want to try it out.

Hello,

I have a 2004 FLHTCSE, and have a splotch on the left side bag lid. It appears to be under the clear about the size of a 50 cent piece. The local dealer has ordered a new lid. In my opinion it was a paint prep or drying issue between the base coat and clear coat.

The day before yesterday I got a call from the dealer, and my new tank and fender are in.
I went over and inspected them yesterday. Finally I have a tank and fender with a good paint job! Also they did not repaint my old parts, they sent new ones, ( know because I marked the old ones).
Last night I took the bike over to get the new parts installed. They pulled the original ticket for the job and it was dated September 13th!
The service manager asked if I had heard from the MOCO, and that I should be getting a letter from them about this whole deal.
I'm not going to hold my breath for the letter.
Now I just hope that they can get the new parts on without scratching them! [smiley=cool3.gif]

Mobe, saw your bike at the shop this afternoon.  That is a funky looking front windshied.  What are your impressions of it?

The boys at the service counter said your green machine was all done too.  Apparently no runs, no drips and no (installation) errors.  You've got to be glad to finally have that little ordeal taken care of.  Congrats.

(Did I mention the three year old in cowboy boots and spurs climbing all over the new tank?)

I really like the front windshield. It cuts the buffeting way down and you can hear the radio much easier.
When they set the bike out front they backed it up against the curtain in the shop. You know, the one which hides the doorframe in that wall. Unfortunately, whoever backed it up shoved the right saddlebag into the side of the hidden doorframe. Long story short....now I am waiting for a new right saddlebag. [smiley=behead.gif]

OMG, say it isn't so!?!  [smiley=cry2.gif]  I bet you can't wait to get 2004 behind you!  [smiley=bomb.gif] [smiley=smash.gif] [smiley=skull.gif] [smiley=stars.gif] [smiley=wall.gif] I'd like to see the look on the face of the Motor Co. employee that processes the order for yet another replacement painted part for your bike.   Now it make sense why I rode my bike in for it's service without the bags or side covers [smiley=laugh.gif]! No one takes care of our bikes like we do.  Sorry for your hassles Mobe, after reading this thread I am afraid to make a closer inspection of my bike. I have noticed though, that the Harley Davidson stickers on both sides of my tank have scratches through the writing. Like somebody hit them with a boxcutter. Anybody else notice the same?
