   Has anybody had the Auto Originals of Farmington NM. driver backrest mod done and if so are you still satisfied with the quality?  I like the fact that the bracket is not seen when the passenger pillion is not attached! The attached pic is from a bike that I believe belongs to a member of this forum.

I had him do the seat on my 13 SERK, did the gel and the riders back rest.  Would do the back rest again, not so sure on gel.

   I'm really curious as to how sturdy the back rest bracket is and also what don't you like about the gel there are different quality's is his not so good or did it change the seat profile?  I'm thinking I want one of these for my RG

I have had no issues with the back rest.  Seems pretty sturdy to me.  Its a square tube that the back rest mounts on and it goes into one that is in the seat.  The Gel did change the profile a little.  I think a little more foam should have been removed.  Even if the gel had been perfect I think I would have been happier with the seat had not done Gel.  I love the rock hard corbin on my road glide.

If you have the back rest added, you have to send the passenger pillon in also, as the nose has to be modified so it will fit with the back rest in place.  The only time I have the pillon on the bike is when carrying a T-Bag.  Or the one time a year my wife rides passenger.  She is usually on her one Road Glide.

     I sent them an email about the pricing for the backrest mod & i'm waiting for them to respond, I ride solo 99% of the time and when I do take the Little Lady I swap out to a to a two up reduced reach seat that has a big passenger pillion!!!  Could you tell or PM me the cost for the backrest mod if you remember?
