Indy shops in Nashville Tn. area

I'm looking at changing my V&H Pro Pipe changed to stock cans and Fullsac cores and Steve's canned map, tune. Bike is in storage at Bumpus HD right now. Should I just get them to perform the work?? I will also have a Pro Pipe for sale, if anyone interested. To loud for me on the long days.

Might talk to Hooligans on Hwy 96 near the Boro.  He's a one man shop but HD trained mechanic.  I've heard several friends happy with his work.  He did not used to have tuning capability but pretty good at routine stuff.

Bumpus has always done good work for me but your stuck with their labor rates.  Hear they have gotten a bit more particular with warranty issues and aftermarket tuners since changing service managers.

When you mention "tune" are you looking to have it dyno'd or do you just want to load the map and ride the bike? Which tuning device are you using to remap the bike? I'm not to familiar with any shops in the area because so far I haven't had a need for their services but Bumpus has done good by me as far as parts changing  goes - actually tuning the bike --- not to sure 'bout that, I've heard that they really aren't that good at custom tuning.

That being said if all you want to do is change the head pipe and muffle cores, load the Fullsac map and ride, that can all be done in a few hours in your garage thereby saving you the $100.00 (or more) labor that the dealer is going to charge you.

You profile saiz "west coast" but yer bike is in TN - gotta ask -- y'all moving to town??

No, not moving. I am 5 minutes from the  Can / US border, Peace arch crossing. I was spending so much money doing the fly and ride, I thought I would just leave a bike in storage instead. Being self employed its hard to get the time to do the long rides, so this works well. I was thinking Bumpus or Boswells for the work. They are suggesting I change to a TTS Tuner from Fullsac instead of using the SERT. Its not under warranty anymore so no worries there. Apreciate the feedback and Happy Independence Day!  Cheers all!!  :drink:

I'd probably favor Bumpus over Boswells. Bought a bike at Boswells several years back and after a couple minor issues with service and current sales pricing I've quit shopping there.  Hate that as their located in my old home area and really tried to like them.

Like I said Bumpus has done excellent work for me in the past. The TTS with Fullsac's map is what I've been using for several years and I have no complaints with Steve's map.

The other option for you is... next time your in town - I've got some tools if'n you've got some beer :drink:
A few hours work and it'll be time to ride! And I'm only a few miles from Bumpus.

Appreciate the offer, Phato - just depends if time permits or not. Don't have my flight figured out for MV this year but sure looking forward to it!! Strange about Boswells as I stopped in there and they didn't really want to give me the time of day...

Now that's funny.....as I have tried to like several dealers in my area. 2 that are 30 minutes away, now I ride for an hour for good service. The first dealership I dealt with was there recently. Met a guy that has purchased 35 mc's and they wouldn't give him a deal on a leather jacket!!! Not sure why he was still there  :nixweiss:

Not strange at all based on my experiences. I went in there twice when I was bike shopping and no one was interested in talking to me! One sales person was actually rude to me.

They're a long ways from Nashville.

They are suggesting I change to a TTS Tuner from Fullsac instead of using the SERT.

My guess is that there's not a canned map in the SERT for the Fullsac cores and they're not sure what to do so they want you to go with the TTS, which isn't a bad idea at all.

If you want, and can arrange it, Phato and I could pick your bike up and make the changes before you get here. Hell I may even buy Bruce a beer!

Either way, if you've got the extra bucks I'd go with the TTS and Steve's map. Definitely Bumpus over Boswells.

Wow - you guys are to much, offering your services!! I have a mountain of luggage to deal with before I can even move the bike. The TTS makes sense now, as I would definitely need it dyno'd, if I kept the SERT. Thanks again for the offer!
