Happy BD Harry.
Sounds like you still had a great day.
When you say "out on the town", what town is that? From an aerial view, there's not a lot of town around you. How big is Bull Shoals?
Bull Shoals is around 1,900 folks. They had high hopes for it becoming a much bigger resort type town, but it never materialized. There are no straight-shot highways to it, and that and it's distance from the main east-west route in Hwy 62 was enough to keep it from growing well over the years, I guess.
Our "go-to" place is Mountain Home, which has around 12,500 people, but serves 3-4 times as many in the surrounding areas. This is huge retirement country, and it's the counties that have the population, not the towns. Despite it's size, Mountain Home has both a Home Depot and a Lowe's, plus one of the best WM supercenters I've ever been in. We really like the Lowe's. There are over 100 restaurants to choose from, and the service at them has always been much better than what we've found elsewhere. With all the retirees around, there are tons of doctors and dentists and specialists to choose from, and a big hospital.
I can be in Mountain Home in around 50 minutes, so when we go, we shop and fart around, then eat out. It makes for a pleasant day "out on the town!"
