They must have changed them 2L.  Mine came with a Y-harness.  You disconnect the two halves of the rear light connector under the seat;  One end of the Y-harness has the mating male and female for that connector, so it acts as a breakout from the main harness, if you see what I mean. The other two ends of the Y-harness go down to near each saddlebag, and they have a female connector on there.   When you fit the lamps, just like the spoilers, they have pre-terminated ends, which, after you get them out through the hole in the bag, you push into the male part of the connector, which then in turn connects to the mating female.

I guess they must have changed them quite a while ago - I got mine last April or thereabouts, and that's how they were.

Jim

Sounds like the change was made to make them they way they all should have been to begin with.  What you describe is what mine became after I worked on them.  It was silly to have to remove the seat to unhook the harness before you could take off the saddlebag.  Glad they got smart and changed it.

I put the saddle bag lighted latches on yesterday. You guys are costing me BIG Time $$. I put the first one on in an hour. The second one went on in 15 minutes. I can see that after getting the lighted spoilers installed it's going to be one huge wad of wires to disconnect to get the saddlebags off. Makes you wonder whatever happened to the simplicity of a bike back in the 80's!

Sounds great, I'd be interested..

I attached the .pdf for the lid spoilers.
I ordered my spoilers just before Christmas and they just got shipped last week!  In the meantime, the dealer printed out the instructions (your PDF) so I could do some rewiring for the install of a "wig wag" for the spoiler lights.  I have the LED light bar (connected to the spare outlet in the Tour Pack) and LED tail lite (Retro) already connected.
With the two accessory plugs under the seat (one is used for the heated seat) the other I wired my GPS to for the Accessory Switch power connection (The four pins are for: 1= power with ignition on, 2= power with Accessory Switch on, 3= Brake lites and 4th is the ground) I needed the Y connection sold by HD to connect to the Wig Wag between the Accessory Plug and the harness from the spoiler lights.
Update:
Just got the Spoiler in and happy to see the wiring harness has a quick disconnect at the saddle bags.  The self tapping screws to mount the LED to the spoiler are a PITA!  Be careful not to twist the head off the screw! (I didn't, but felt I could have if I did not keep chasing the thread and clearing debris out after I was almost at the end.)  I will drill the holes and mount the spoilers over the weekend.

I just put the vivid black ones on mine - you can't really notice the difference.

Cobalt, here's at least one option to consider.

Those connectors to the spoiler lights and latch lights are small.  The wires are smaller.  The system is fine while riding.  It's not terribly robuts in the hands of ham fisted service techs who just pull on the saddlebags though.

I never had a problem.  Three times in it's life someone besides me has taken a saddlebag off.  Twice one of those connectors got pulled apart.  It's easy to do if they're not careful.

I took a four wire deutsch connector and made a single and more robust connection that handles what was done by the two connectors before.  You need a brake light wire, a t/s wire, the two run lights previously existing can be serviced by one lead as can the two ground leads that previously existed.

If yours ever do get yanked apart it's an option at least worth considering.  Used a little heavier wire for the legs to reach each way.  Good connections to crimp to at the connector.  It's also a more weather resistant connector than the stock pieces.  But, primarily, dumasses don't pull it apart without looking.

Someone had posted earlier, that it's listed in the "big book", but not online.  Here's the part number that was given for the Black Ice 58606-07CKF.

I don't know why they don't show all the color choices online. If you ask at the dealer they have probably every color to match any HD saddlebag. I ordered a set of black emerald a while back.

I ordered a set of the deck lid spoilers for my B&O today.  Dealer told me that beings it's a current color, should take 2-4 weeks to get here.  Hopefully, they'll be in and I'll have them installed before York.

Those look cool, if I had hard packs like you guys I'd bet them too. Do they hit your trunk when you open them?

HB,
I'm not holding my breath. ;)  From what I've read on here, they will take longer than 2-4 weeks, but then again, maybe I'll get lucky and they will be doing a batch and get done sooner.  Hey, I can dream can't I???  ::)

Talon,
The tour pak's not supposed to interfere with them when opening up the lids... 8)
