Dissapointed in Rivera pro clutch
« on: July 14, 2016, 08:22:14 PM »

Talked with Rivera about which setup would be best for my application before ordering my new pro clutch. They recommended the silver spring. Had it installed last week, unfortunately I am still getting a lot of slippage. Emailed them again and now they are saying I need a gold spring or the TPP? . I am also running dextron 3 like the installation instructions say. At this point I dont really trust them so I am looking for recommendations on which way I should go with this? Keep the silver and add the TPP? Go to the Gold spring? On the upside no neutral rattle and no backlash coming from the compensator at idle like with the A/S. Bike is making 115 hp/ 121 lb ft SAE
Thanks for the help.

JC,

I had a Rivera Pro clutch on my 120 build and ran the race diaphragm spring.  I recall they provide (or did) several diaphragm springs with the clutch.  Not s big deal to change out.  With a hydraulic clutch the pull isn't too bad even with the stiffest spring.  Haven't tried their TPP, so can't comment.

Pete,
Thanks for the info. Will make a call tomorrow and see if it was supposed to have all three springs with it. :nixweiss:

I have the gold diaphragm spring on mine and it hooks up better but your hand will get tired if you have to hold the clutch lever in at a light for very long. I try to slip into Neutral as I am coming up to a red light if I can. The gold spring was installed last time I had my 131 tuned said it was slipping under WOT making it hard to finish the tune.

Had the same in Ol' Maudie's 120.  No problems.  Later--HUBBARD

Hi all,

Have a question regarding CVO touring clutch issues there is a lot of conversation in various posts on this topic. Doing my reacearch I have learned there are several options to change out clutch assy`s to aftermarket race oriented parts and to be honest am uncertain on which route to go. To be honest I was happy with my old `05 CVO  clutch W/ 31 k miles.

My question is has is it possible to revert back to an old style O.E. H.D. non-slipper (A&S?) clutch? Has anyone done this on a `15 S.E.S.G.? Thanks.

Some big motor folks will beef up the clutch for the Dyno Tune, then "soften" it back up for the street...

Did any of you with the Rivera clutch experience trouble getting into N while motor running. I have talked to several OP and found same issues with N. Trapperdog suggested using the rear shift arm to pop into N. I haven't reinstalled mine yet to try. :nixweiss:

I did until I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. Problem solved for me.
