Changing turn signals
« on: July 23, 2016, 04:33:34 PM »

The cvo has plug turn signals and I like the custom dynamics one but they have the bulb end. Anyone find a quick fix other than snipping the plug off?

I'm not familiar with that term "bulb end".  Which Custom Dynamics lights are you talking about?  Is it just a replacement for the LED "puck", or is it a complete turn signal assembly?  If it's a replacement for the Harley "puck" and doesn't come with a plug to mate up to the Harley wiring, I think I'd find a way to add such a fitting to the new units and maintain the ability to quickly plug and unplug the light.  You could also ask the folks at Custom Dynamics, they are normally very helpful.

I just went to the Custom Dynamics website and they already have some LED inserts that are a direct plug-in replacement for the Harley LED puck on a 2016 CVO Street Glide.  If you're looking for something other than those, I'd suggest contacting them and ask if they can wire the ones you want with that wiring plug that fits your bike.

Custom Dynamics are what I installed awhile ago, they added light and the plug goes into the socket like a bulb, they work great.

The 2015 model came with the old fashioned Thomas Edison kind of bulbs.  The 2016 has the LED system shown in the drawing I attached above.  So he doesn't have a bulb socket.  If he's trying to use a light like the one you used that plugs into that kind of bulb socket, he will need to either have Custom Dynamics install the proper plug to fit his bike, or he could do it himself with the mating connector and some wire terminals.

Didn't know they changed but if there is a simular light replacment, it does add more light.
