2014 SERK Blown engine

Well It took 39,000 miles but the 110 flywheel went bad and the engine is trashed. Thanks for ESP   looks like a rebuild. Billy

So your motor is stock, without any modifications?  Curious, did this happen suddenly or where you getting increasing vibrations from the engine over a time period. 

Bad news!  Hopefully you can pay the difference and get an S&S flywheel.  There's been too many of these incidents of recent, in the newer bikes!

The first thing I noticed looking back is that  my parade mode came on very early when it was not that hot. Then last week my wife was riding next to me and said she could here something rattle. I could not hear it with my helmet on and The bike was going in for 40 k and tires. When the tech started the bike he called me to come in for a listen myself.  It sounded like a bucket of bolts. He said it was ready to fall apart soon. So he cracked it open and found the flywheel problem with metal shaving all through the engine and cooler. Still waiting for ESP approval. Billy

I was there with the second esp inspector. They took pictures of everything. My dealer will install any parts that esp will not approve. esp was looking hard for any non OEM parts. they would not approve if I had Sand S flywheel It the engine craps out again. So I will stay stock for the net 4 yrs till ESP is over then buy new or maybe earlier if new engines proof to be better. Billy

Well on one hand they're taking care of you, so that's great.  I guess they're going to replace your motor, so I don't blame you for staying stock, under the circumstances (they're seemingly looking for an excuse not to pay up).  Best of luck with the new motor! :pepper:

Ask him if lifters were the initial failure and to look closely at lifter bores.
