Lifters and Cam
« on: August 22, 2016, 09:09:01 AM »

Advice please.

2011 110" cvo Ultra roadglide (29k miles). Torrington bearings, Tyco tensions shoes, Gaterman Lifters, Beehives springs all done about 9k miles ago. rebore and Valve guide seals 4k miles ago.

Chirping noise just started yesterday.

I will investigate and report but, just so I can start to think about it: What lifters are the best, if the standard cam is unuseable which cam do I need (prefer torque upto 3500rpm than high end hp).

Regards

When I asked a couple of years ago about Lifters, S&S Premium was the resounding favorite (by over 10-1) after 30k miles S&S is my recommendation too...

The Cams that I prefer operate in different ranges so I'll defer to others...

I went with Woods directional lifters over 25K miles ago. It only modestly lessened the valve train noise but they've been dependable ever since installation on a pretty "squeezed" engine with larger injectors, larger TB, headwork with larger exhaust valves, roller rockers etc.
