08 and earlier front motor mount question
« on: August 28, 2016, 09:41:32 PM »

I used to have a velva ride motor mount which was and improvement and smoother than the old style Harley one. I was on a trip a few years aga and fond I had t change it on the road so a dealer ship put in the new style. I have 30,000  miles so far and its indestructible but it vibrates and there no getting rid of it so I give up. has anyone tried the Gooden-Tite ISO Front Motor Mount or the glide-pro

Have had the glide-pro setup installed for 4 years now only done 20K but handles better with less vibration, cannot comment on the Gooden-Tite ISO Front Motor Mount.

I installed the whole Glide Pro kit consisting of the front motor mount & the swing-arm kit. After running it one season every thing was shot & in pieces.  They told me to send them the parts and they would send me a new set up.  They sent the swing-arm bushings but no motor mount kit!  I was told they had a bad batch of poly for the bushings.  A very expensive lesson on paying top dollar for inferior parts.  I know have the heavy duty motor mount by Alloy Art for $90.00.  It's a heavy duty mount compared to the stock one.  Removed their high priced bushings as well.

Bike still shakes at idle but it smooths out considerably once I'm moving.  If I didn't need to replace it that day to ride the weekend I might have gone with the other after market kit.  The price for the Glide Pro kit was high and like many other's on a few other forums found out it just didn't hold up well.

Good to know. I am hearing both good and bad on glide pro. So it's down to alloy arts or velvaride ride thanks for this information

I have 30K+ miles on my Glide-Pro motor mount and swing arm bushings, inspected this season for Sturgis ride from VA, look as good as the day I installed them.
