front brake

hello ,havent riding bike in two an one half years , last two rides ,riding with cruise control on, i  touch front brake lever to turn off cruise control and it works intermittent ,back brake shuts cruise down fine,took a ride last night an noticed when i try to shut down cruise with front brake an the rear light doesnt come on it doesnt shut down an when brake light comes on it does shut down any ideas thanks

Did you flush/change the brake fluid?

Negative on the flush, did check it though level was good, fluid looks clean, no debris in reservoir we

The reason I asked some bikes, if you changed the fluid it triggered codes that had to be cleared by the dealer. Not sure what year bikes, however, doesn't concern nor help you, sorry

Probably the switch at the brake lever if it works some times it might just be gummed up with crud.

The front brake switch is a simple mechanical switch located in the right handlebar switch housing and operated by the brake lever.  They can become sticky, or they can become loose in the switch housing, or they can just fail internally.  See if you can locate it and make sure the brake lever is contacting the tip of the switch plunger, and the switch plunger moves in and out freely.

Great information Jerry I'll take apart tomorrow an get back with the results, yeah sometimes you need to disconnect the cruise quickly an the front brake lever is the quickest anyway thanks
